 | Snake Guardz Snake Guardz are light-weight (10 ounces), cool, contoured to fit, and feature a unique design that allows air circulation between your leg and the snake gaiter. Snake Guardz are constructed with 1000 denier nylon or whisper quiet Amerisuede encasing polycarbonate inserts that stop the fangs of poisonous snakes.
Snake Guardz are snakeproof up to 17 inches and utilize a unique toe cover which protects the laces of your boot or shoe (if struck, you definitely don't want snake fangs becoming entangled in your laces!). Wear with thick leather shoes or boots for guaranteed protection against rattlesnakes and other poisonous vipers. Light weight (15 ounces) Snake Chapz are secured in place with a 1 inch polyester strap, which may either be slipped through a belt loop or over the belt and are connected by a polycarbonate quick release buckle-- providing a "full range" height adjustment. Snake Chapz feature YKK zippers on the inside of each chap to make them easy on/easy off over heavy boots or shoes. Treated with a water repellant coating. Heavy shoes are required for foot and ankle protection. Snake Chapz are to be worn over regular clothing. |


 | Snake Chapz Full Protection Snake Chapz FP (full protection) are manufactured with 1000 denier nylon or quiet Amerisuede fabric encasing polycarbonate inserts. Snake Chapz FP are snake proof to a minimum of 19" high (approximately to your knee) by the polycarbonate inserts, and then to the top of the chap by 18 ounce polyurethane impregnated nylon. This allows knee action while providing snake proof protection to the top of the chap.
Snake Chapz FP are stiff and hard to walk in, but necessary for working in snake-infested swamps or streams. Snake Chapz feature YKK zippers on the inside of each chap to make them easy on/easy off over heavy boots or shoes. Rise in snakebites reported in USA Today article: Some parts of the country, especially Texas and California, are seeing an increase in reported snakebites, according to national and state poison control centers. The American Association of Poison Control Centers receives around 2,000 reports of snakebites each year. Bite reports increased 8% from 2006 to 2007. Some experts believe the rise in more severe cases could be the result of more snakes developing the powerful neurotoxin hellerase in their venom. Read the full story here...
