 CC690 Power Sluice

cc690 power sluice
CC690 Now has New Improved Grizzly!

Looking for a sluice that catches and retains ALL sizes of gold? The CC690 Power Sluice does just that!  The CC690 is a water operated, centrifugal concentrator and is capable of processing large volumes of material without the need for pre-classification.

The design of this highbanker/power sluice, which took two years to perfect, was based on published research from Yukon placer gold recovery operations in the 1980s - 1990s. These researchers conducted tests of existing placer gold recovery operations to determine which equipment designs were most efficient in retaining gold of all sizes. Irradiated gold particles were used in testing to enable tracking of each gold piece being captured, or not, by the recovery equipment. Since the design of the CC690 Power Sluice was based on these quantitative studies, as opposed to guesswork or tradition, this product better helps small scale gold miners in extracting the greatest percentage of gold possible from the gravel that gets fed into the CC690.

Existing sluice designs rely mainly on gravity to capture gold. With the CC690, not only is the force of gravity at work to trap gold, but the very force of the water itself is used to create high energy vortices that trap and hold gold particles against the matting. These forces combine to help the smaller particles work their way deep into the looped, vinyl fibers of the matting and on down to the grooves of the underlying v-ribbed rubber mat where they remain until it is time to perform the clean up operation.

This unit folds together for wheeling down to your dig site. It can then be quickly set up with no tools and there are no tiny parts to lose. It is powered with a common 6.5hp, 3 inch trash pump. The water is run through a 2 inch suction hose and a 2 inch lay flat hose at 150 gpm. All materials used in the construction of the CC690 were chosen for their corrosion resistance, quality and durability to ensure this piece of equipment will stand up to abuse and survive season after season!

So that you can inspect your tailings, the grizzly pivots to allow you to dump the large rocks out onto an inspection plate before they are discarded.

Although it's been hard to improve upon the original CC690 design, the grizzly was recently improved!

• More cross-spars were added to prevent those long, skinny rocks from getting through
• A flat plate was added to the back of the grizzly to prevent material from being shoveled through the back
• Continuous frame added around the whole grizzly.

The 3/4 inch material that washes through the grizzly runs over some very aggressive aluminum angle riffles before dropping down into the bottom trough. The bottom has 2 sizes of expanded metal riffle sections: 3/4 inch and 3/16 inch heavy gauge aluminum. Top and bottom trough are 4 feet long by 1 foot wide. There is deep v-groove matting under heavy vinyl miner's moss under all riffle sections to securely retain any captured gold.

Clean up is simple!  The legs and wheels store inside the troughs when transporting. Includes 1 year warranty from the manufacturer.

Here's what an actual customer has to say about the CC690:

"The CC690 arrived very quickly and when I opened the box I was very inpressed at the beauty of this machine. I almost hated to get it dirty {almost}. Setting up the unit was quick and easy; I did not even use the instructions, but I did look thru them afterwards to make sure I had everything correct. The weight of the unit is not too bad. You can make it lighter if you don't store the parts inside. I like the fact that I can wheel it from place to place with ease, and the level bubbles make it so simple to get just the right angle for the box--takes the guess work out of it. Another thing is in the sluice area you got your riffles, then your miners moss, and under that deep rib rubber matting that is great for catching the fine gold. Here in ohio that is a plus because thats all I seem to find. The pressure from the water pushes the fine gold down thru the moss and into the rubber mat-- what more could you ask for in a highbanker?! I like the the unit; it is very well constructed with speed nuts so you don't even need a wrench to assemble it. I also like the fact that the griz pivots and dumps onto a inspection plate so you can inspect your material even further before you dump it. Everything stores inside for ease of tranport and removing the riffles for cleanup is very simple. If you are looking for a new highbanker, I think you should check out the cc690.
